After many years exploring my creativity through oils, acrylics, ink, and charcoal, I put down my canvases and set aside those artistic urges for about 20 years to focus on advancement within the corporate world.
A good friend of mine would always show up to group functions among mutual friends with his DSLR, as he was learning photography and building his expertise. On one such occasion, we were tailgating before the purple splendor of a Prince concert. Noticing that my buddy was never in the photo highlights of past outings, I offered to shoot a few to make sure he was captured in the mix as well. I ended up shooting for the next hour or so, looking for ways to frame images which captured the excitement of the day. Something clicked. I missed having that creative outlet for all those years and photography was scratching that itch. A few days later after reviewing the images of that day, my friend called me up and briefly said, "You need your own camera", and here we are.
